The Zacuto Family
from France
c.1240

  • The name Zacuto is variously spelled Zacuta, Zacutus, Zekut and Sacutto.
  • In 1306 King Philip the Fair expelled the Jews (once more) and the Zacuto family left France for Castile, Spain.
  • Some of the early research on the Zacuto lineage is somewhat speculative.
Yossi Beck has produced a concise table showing a comparison between the various interpretations of the data.
