Can I Dream

Morning tiptoes in a grassy field
Of butterflies and daffodils,
The sunlight in your hair and in my eyes,
I hear your name;
Sleeping like a bubble in the wind
And throwing rainbows round the hills,
And casting colors in the clouds,
I see your smile.

And waking in the morning to the thought
That you are closer,
And in time the night could turn into what’s real.
Can I dream? Can I dream?

Dancing in a dreamscape
to the magic and enchantment,
’mid the singing and the sighing of the wind,
I touch your hand;
On tiptoes, skipping, dancing, whirling, walking in a wonderland
Of wishing wells and waterfalls alike,
I learn your love.

And waking in the morning to the thought
That you are closer,
And in time the night could turn into what’s real.
Can I dream? Can I dream?
