Peace Ship

She stands upon the sea with a reason to be free
And a purity of purpose in her sails,
Proposing to decide between serenity and pride,
But love is in the lifeline that she trails.

(Chorus:)

And the ship still sails and her strong light prevails,
And the voice of her peace sings through the sky.
Will we balance the scales or be washed o’er the rails
And be lost in the sea as the ship passes by?

Reaching out her hand in the dust of no-man’s land,
’Mid the anger and the pain and the war,
To a place in the sun without the rifle and the gun,
With the light from the ship shines on the shore.

And the ship still sails and her strong light prevails,
And the voice of her peace sings through the sky.
Will we balance the scales or be washed o’er the rails
And be lost in the sea as the ship passes by?

Put your hands on the oar to bring the tie-line to the shore,
To find the strength within you to row in.
It seems to be true that it’s up to me and you
To find the love and peace we need to win.

And the ship still sails and her strong light prevails,
And the voice of her peace sings through the sky.
Will we balance the scales or be washed o’er the rails
And be lost in the sea as the ship passes by?
